“I’m more than my production” – this powerful truth was dropped on me by one of my real life real estate besties during one of our casual lunch outings. With almost a decade in the business, she consistently ranked among the top three agents in her office for both units sold and volume.
Picture her – petite in stature, a smile that could warm anyone’s heart. But those who really knew her saw a pit bull in a skirt – tough, strategic, and always at the top of her game.
She negotiated like a pro, handled the toughest situations fearlessly, and could sell anything to anyone – the kind of agent we all aspire to be. She was nothing short of amazing.
Yet, beyond her impressive resume and bank account, she carried a wisdom that took me years to understand. She knew her true value wasn’t rooted in the number of homes she sold but in Christ Jesus.
Her words hit me because, let’s be honest, I’ve fallen into the trap of tying my worth to what I can produce. When I’m excelling, I feel unstoppable. But on the flip side, when I’m not hitting those high numbers, I’ve allowed myself to feel less than, and that’s just not okay.
So, as we embark on a new year, I want to remind you that you’re more than your production too. I know you’re ready to accomplish incredible things, and you will. But from the very start, remember, you have a Father who loves you deeply. He loves you so much that He allowed His only son to die for you. If that doesn’t spell out your worth, I don’t know what does.
Let me share my favorite scripture with you: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:10
So the next time you are tempted to measure your worth by any standard other than God’s word, remember that you are his workmanship and wonderful in his eyes.
I see it and I pray that you do too.
Your Real Estate Bestie,
