HEY REAL ESTATE BESTIES!

I had a client who absolutely loved me during their home-buying journey. I helped them secure their dream home, negotiated an amazing deal, and got them to the closing table seamlessly—not a single challenge along the way.

Oh, but the challenges came afterward.

Once they moved in, it seemed like problem after problem kept popping up. And while I was their real estate agent, my job was to get them to closing, not to manage the property after the fact. I gave them resources, answered every call, and supported them however I could, but I could feel their frustration growing.

As time went on, I dreaded calling them during my past client follow-ups. I just knew they were upset with me. Part of me wanted to block them altogether and move on.

But instead, I chose to keep extending love, grace, and support—just like I always do.

Fast forward a few months, and guess what? They referred me to a friend with raving reviews about how hard I worked for them.

I was stunned because I had convinced myself they were disappointed in me. But the truth is, if I had let my own thoughts and insecurities control my response, I would have missed out—not just on a great referral but on the opportunity to love God’s people well, even when it felt difficult.

It was a reminder that we don’t always see the impact we make, and we can’t allow fear or assumptions to make us treat people poorly.

Proverbs 3:3-4 (ESV) says:
“Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.”

Loving people—even when it’s uncomfortable—is how we reflect God’s character. He calls us to remain faithful, to serve with integrity, and to trust that how we love people will always come back around.

So, Bestie, who do you need to keep showing up for, even when it feels hard? Keep loving, keep serving, and let God handle the rest.
