A few days ago, I went on a walk with my son Corey just to chat about life. Corey is almost 25, and over the past few years, I’ve watched him really start to pursue a personal relationship with God. And listen—I’m proud of a lot of things he’s done in life, but this journey? Watching him grow spiritually? It’s the most beautiful thing to witness.
As we walked and talked about faith, I asked him a simple question:
“Have you ever experienced something where you knew without a doubt that it was God?”
His answer surprised me. He said he had been trying for the longest time to wake up early—he’d set his alarm for 6:30, but morning after morning, he’d sleep right through it and not wake up until 7:45 or later. And he would feel disappointed in himself every single time.
But one day, he decided to start praying about it. Nothing fancy. Just simply asking God to help him get up on time.
And guess what happened? He started waking up—not at 6:30, but 20–30 minutes before his alarm even went off. And while some might brush that off as coincidence, Corey recognized it for what it was: God responding to his prayer.
And Bestie, that moment right there checked me. Because if I’m being honest, there have been so many times where I’ve struggled with everyday things—
- Not overindulging in food
- Staying focused on my work
- Putting my phone down when I need to be present
And instead of praying, I’d try to power through or beat myself up for falling short. But that short convo with Corey reminded me that God cares about the little things too. He wants to be invited into our daily lives—not just the big, life-altering decisions, but the small, seemingly insignificant areas too.
So that’s my question for you today, Bestie:
What’s one area you’ve overlooked or thought wasn’t worth praying about—where you can invite God to help you today?
Because He’s listening. And He cares. Even about your alarm clock.
Your Real Estate Bestie,
