HEY REAL ESTATE BESTIES!

I recently had a very hard conversation

I met this really sweet lender. We hit it off—she was kind, professional, and genuinely excited about the possibility of working together. A few days later, she reached out and offered to take me out for coffee.

And I almost said yes.

Not because I had the time.

Not because I was actively looking for a new lender partner.

But because I didn’t want to reject her.

Because I know what rejection feels like. It stings. And sometimes, it can linger in your spirit longer than you’d like to admit. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that saying yes just to avoid an uncomfortable moment would have actually been unkind to us both.

I wasn’t the right fit for her at this time. And the time she could’ve spent with me might be better used pursuing someone who is ready and in alignment.

So I picked up the phone and called her. I shared my heart honestly, and let her know that while I appreciated her offer, I wouldn’t be the best fit to explore a partnership right now.

And after that conversation, I thought about you.

Because I know how heavy rejection can feel in this business—and in life. It’s easy to let it get personal. But it’s not always personal… sometimes it’s providential.

That made me think about Ruth.

After her husband died, Ruth found herself in Moab—a foreign place, with no real family, no security, no clear future. Rejected by circumstances she couldn’t control. But that season of grief, of starting over, of clinging to Naomi, was actually preparation. Because when she followed Naomi to Bethlehem, she walked straight into the field of purpose.

And let’s be clear—Ruth didn’t just marry Boaz. She stepped into the lineage of Jesus.

From the outside, her story started with loss and looked like rejection. But to God, it was always redirection.

So Bestie, if someone cancels a meeting, doesn’t choose you, or passes you by—don’t let that make you question your worth. That might just be God gently nudging you back into alignment with His plans, not theirs.

You want the right fit. The right doors. The right opportunities. And God is the One who opens what no one can shut.

Be grateful when something doesn’t work out—because you don’t want to force what’s not God’s best.
