HEY REAL ESTATE BESTIES!

You know what I have noticed about people? Taking risks is really about having faith. But here is where a lot of us get it twisted. We only take risks based on the faith we have in ourselves instead of the faith we have in God.

If you are naturally the type of person who bets on yourself, then from the outside looking in you might seem like a risk taker. You try new things. You push forward. You make moves. But the truth is, you are still depending on what you can do in your own strength.

Real risk taking looks different. Real risk taking is when you step into something that requires God to move beyond what you know you can accomplish on your own. That is what true faith is.

Hebrews 11 verse 6 tells us, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” Faith is not about believing in our own abilities. It is believing in who God is and trusting that He will meet us when we obey Him.

Rahab is a beautiful example of this. When the spies came to Jericho, she hid them. Not because she trusted her own ability. She could not fight. She could not protect herself. She could not control the king or the army. Her abilities were not enough. But she had heard about the God of Israel. She heard what He had done. She believed in His power even though she had not grown up knowing Him. And she was willing to take a risk based on who God is, not who she was.

That is the kind of faith that changes everything.

But here is the part we sometimes skip. It is hard to have faith in someone you do not have relationship with. This is why it is so important to create real opportunities to know Jesus for yourself. Because when God calls you to take a risk, it usually will not be the comfortable thing you are used to doing.

If you are the number one salesperson in your office, going on a listing appointment is not risky. You know how to do that. But standing in front of a group of kids to speak about entrepreneurship when you do not feel confident as a speaker? That might feel like a risk. That might be the place where God is stretching your faith.

It is not about your ability. It is about your obedience. It is about being more confident in what God is calling you to do than you are in your own inconsistencies.

So if you are struggling to take risks, it may not mean you are weak or unprepared. It may be showing you where God wants to grow your faith. Where He is inviting you to trust Him on a deeper level.

Ask Him today, Where are You calling me to take a risk that requires Your strength instead of mine?

And then take the first step. He will meet you there.
