There is a kind of faith that trusts God when life feels uncertain.
And then there is a deeper faith that trusts God even when life is good.
Genesis 22 invites you into that deeper faith. God asks Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, the very son through whom He promised to build a nation. What stands out is Abraham’s immediate obedience. He does not delay or argue. He moves forward in trust.
This story can feel uncomfortable because it forces an honest question: Do you trust God more than the good things He has given you?
Before this moment, God had already made a clear promise. He told Abraham that nations would come through Isaac. And Scripture reminds us of this unshakable truth:
“God is not a man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind.”
Numbers 23:19

Abraham’s obedience was not blind. It was anchored in what God had already spoken. He remembered the promise, trusted God’s character, and believed that God would provide, even when he could not see how.
And God did exactly that.
“So Abraham called the name of that place, ‘The Lord will provide.’”
Genesis 22:14
This is the kind of faith God invites you into. A faith that holds blessings with open hands. A faith that remembers God’s promises when obedience feels costly. A faith that trusts the Giver more than the gift.
But remembering God’s promises requires knowing them. That is why time in the Word matters. When Scripture lives in your heart, it steadies you when your faith is tested and reminds you that God always keeps His word.
Today, consider where God may be asking you to trust Him more deeply. Not because He wants to take from you, but because He wants to show you that He is faithful, true, and always your Provider.
