Real Estate Bestie will always be a place where we keep it real about what’s happening in life. This is not a space where we have to be phony or pretend we’ve got it all together. Here, we can admit how challenging it is just to show up every day and try to look like Jesus in the process.
So, let me be honest—this has been a really hard week for me. From family concerns to navigating the holidays to just not feeling like doing much of anything, I’ve been riding the struggle bus. But even in this tough season, God has been so intentional. For the past few weeks, He’s had me studying the book of Job, and I’ve been struck by Job’s response when his life was turned upside down.
Most of us respond to hardship with doubt, tears, or staying in bed. But Job? He responded in worship. “Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped” (Job 1:20). That is so powerful to me because it shows how deeply Job loved God and how much he trusted Him, even in the hardest moments. Job knew God intimately, and that relationship allowed him to go directly to his Father when everything fell apart.
Worship isn’t just for Sunday mornings. Anybody can lift their hands during praise or clap to fast church music. But true worship comes from knowing God—knowing who He is, what He’s done for you, and understanding the gift of salvation. Worship is for the believer who desires to honor Him, even on their worst days.
If you’ve had a hard week like I have, I encourage you to turn your heart to worship. It doesn’t have to be formal or routine. Sometimes, just singing, crying, or whispering His name is enough to remind you of His tenderness and love. Worship isn’t about perfection; it’s about intimacy. And even on the struggle bus, God meets us right where we are.
