HEY REAL ESTATE BESTIES!

One day I was working out and my phone went off.

One of my real-life real estate besties sent me a message that blessed me so much. She said she had set aside some time for prayer and devotion and wanted to know if I had any specific prayer requests.

Bestie, I almost cried.

She had no way of knowing, but that week had been especially hard. My spirit felt heavy—juggling responsibilities, navigating recent losses, and just trying to show up for everyday life. It was one of those weeks where the smile doesn’t come easy.

But God knew.

And not only did He nudge her to spend time in prayer, but He put me on her heart. That meant the world to me—not just that she prayed, but that she reached out to ask how she could pray. It reminded me how powerful intercession really is.

It also challenged me.

I want to be that kind of friend too—not just praying in general, but actually asking, “How can I cover you today?” I think sometimes we want to help, but don’t know how… and honestly, sometimes we say “I’m praying for you” without ever actually doing it.

But there’s something special about taking the time to check in, ask the question, and stand in the gap for someone.

Because friends who pray for each other? That can change everything.

It made me think about the story in the Gospels when four friends carried their paralyzed friend to Jesus. The place was packed, and they couldn’t get through the door. So what did they do?

They took the roof off the house.

Literally.

They were so determined to get their friend to Jesus that they climbed up, dug a hole in the roof, and lowered him right in front of the Lord.

“Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on.” —Mark 2:4 (NIV)

And Jesus healed him—because of the faith of his friends.

So here’s my encouragement today:

Let’s take the roof off.

Let’s be the kind of friends who actually reach out, who ask how we can pray, who go to Jesus on behalf of the people we love.

Because miracles still happen when friends intercede.

Here’s your challenge:

Drop a comment and tell me who you’re going to pray for today.

Then send them a message and ask, “What can I pray for you?”

You never know how much they might need it.
