HEY REAL ESTATE BESTIES!

Every year we make resolutions about our health, our business, our finances, and our routines. But what if the most important habit you build in 2026 is the one that strengthens your relationship with the Lord? What if this is the year you get intentional with your quiet time?

This one habit changed everything for me. I started my quiet time consistently in 2017, and I can say without hesitation that this is the single thing that has transformed my life. Honestly, it is the reason I can sit here today and write this devotional to you. God met me in those quiet moments, and He will meet you too.

Here are a few simple tips to help you start or restart this habit.

1. Sit in silence

Quiet time can last ten minutes or an hour. The length does not matter as much as getting into the rhythm. Begin by sitting still for a minute or two. Let your heart settle. Thank God quietly for who He is. Notice His blessings. The home you are in. The blanket covering you. The light coming through the window. The Bible in your hands. These small things remind you that He is present and generous.

2. Add worship music

I love to play a little worship to help my heart settle into God’s presence. I do not always listen to the whole song. I just use it to shift my focus toward Him. Here is my worship playlist

3. Read scripture and/or a devotional

Spend a few minutes in the Word. You can read a short passage or use a devotional. When I first started this habit in 2017, devotionals helped me stay consistent. I would read the story and then go back to the scripture that went with it. Over time, I found myself wanting more of the Bible itself.

4. Pray out loud and journal

This is a game changer. Talk to God like you talk to a close friend. Pray out loud. Share what is on your mind. Ask Him for direction. Thank Him. Then take a few minutes to journal. Write out your thoughts, your prayers, and what you sense God is saying. Looking back on these pages years later is a powerful reminder of how faithful He has been.

These habits will help you become more rooted and grounded in God. Your walk with Him will grow stronger, your peace will deepen, and you will start your days from a place of strength instead of stress.

Jesus modeled this for us. Luke 5 verse 16 tells us that Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. If the Savior of the world needed to step away from the noise and meet with His Father, how much more do we need those quiet moments?

So here is my invitation for 2026.

Start your year by prioritizing quiet time with God.

Let Him speak to you.

Let Him guide you.

Let Him shape you.

Reply and let me know which habit you are planning to incorporate first.
