The other day I was scrolling through Instagram and saw a reel posted by a father. His daughter had just been in a very horrible car accident. He showed the car that was completely flipped upside down with the guard rails from the road completely through the drivers side.  From the looks of the car, no one should have survived this! As he showed the car he continued to repeat ‘My God is Great, My God is Great’. Then he panned the camera and showed his daughter, shaken up and a little bruised but ALIVE! 

This video was so powerful and truly reminded me that safe travel is such an underrated blessing. As real estate agents, we are in the car a LOT. Showings, open houses, builder meetings, multiple trainings— we rack up a lot of miles. Being on the road so much, it’s easy to forget just how dangerous driving can be. One accident can alter your life forever so every single time we make it to and from our destination safely, we need to raise a hallelujah and give thanks. 

My CPA had me download a mileage tracking app to track my miles for business expenses and tax savings. Each time I complete a drive, the app sends me a notification to log the ride as business or personal use. I love this app because it is a constant reminder to track my mileage.

Moving forward I will use the app a little differently. Each time it notifies me to log my miles, I will also give God a prayer of Thanksgiving. I will thank Him for traveling grace and ask that He continue to cover me and keep me safe. God blesses us with so many gifts that have become common but this video reminded me that He deserves to be praised in all things! 

I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. – Psalm 145:1-3

God is great and greatly to be praised. He covers and blesses us in so many ways. I pray that we become more sensitive to His love, grace and protection and that we exalt His name forever.
